Portfolio Analyst

Ophir is looking to hire a Portfolio Analyst.

Ophir is seeking a highly motivated Investment Portfolio Analyst to join our team. You will be based in our Melbourne office and responsible for providing investment guidance and support to our clients.

You will work closely with our Investment Team to communicate and deliver investment solutions that meet the objectives of our clients.

The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Development of sales presentations for investor/advisor meetings, conferences, and webinars.
  • Preparations of quantitative and qualitative information for Research Houses to conduct reviews of investment products.
  • Maintain relationships and data flow with investment platforms and gather and synthesise data for sales and retention purposes.
  • Responsibility for maintaining key HNW investor relationships through direct investment updates.
  • Production of monthly investment Factsheet commentary and quantitative statistics.
  • Production of regular investment commentary for ASX releases, various external media outlets and corporate social media accounts.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting for key mandate investor accounts.
  • Preparation of portfolio performance analytics for internal portfolio review meetings.
  • Generating responses for information requests from key current and prospective investors including HNWs, financial advisors and institutions.

Essential Requirements 

  • Degree qualified in a relevant financial discipline (eg B.Com, B.Bus).
  • Minimum 5 years in financial services in a related role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Growth mindset and curious.
  • Passion for investing and financial markets.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Self-starter that is driven and wishes to progress to a leadership role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • RG146: related General Advice requirements.
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification (eg Masters of Applied Finance, CFA, MBA).
  • Bloomberg terminal proficiency
